The role of a Hematology outpatient clinic in improving access to bone marrow transplantation in low-middle-income countries.

Discutir a elegibilidade precocemente no Transplante de Medula Óssea (TMO) reduz o tempo de espera, a busca de doadores e acelera o acesso aos cuidados pré-transplante. O estudo descreve a otimização do acesso ao TMO por meio de um ambulatório para avaliação de pacientes pré-transplante. Estudo retrospectivo, 2021-2023 no Hospital Universitário Walter Cantídio. Dados analisados no SPSS. Mostra 226 transplantes de 3.646 consultas. A clínica encaminhou 45 pacientes, contribuindo com 19,1%, 11,7% e 22,1% dos transplantes em 2021, 2022 e 2023, respectivamente, em comparação com <5% nos anos anteriores. Este aumento destaca a importância do acesso rápido aos cuidados pré-transplante, resultando num maior número de pacientes elegíveis para transplante.
